Vertical Baler Series

Safety, reliability and value are just three reasons that you should choose your baler from Bes-Pac.

Vertical Balers

Horizontal Balers

BALE or COMPACT?

DEFINITION:

BALE – A large bundle of merchandise, closely compressed and bound.

COMPACT – Closely packed together; solid; dense. Pack together closely; condense.

PURPOSE:

To facilitate more economical transportation in a package acceptable to the mill or landfill.

I.E.:

Two (2) 20’ long 20 yard containers will hold roughly 2,000 pounds of loose corrugated (not flattened). This would be the maximum load for a 40’ flatbed, due to the length of the open top containers and not the weight. Baled, this same flatbed could hold thirty-two to forty (32-40) 1,000 pound bales.

BALER CONSIDERATIONS

VOLUME OF CORRUGATED:
20 cubic yards of loose corrugated is equivalent to approximately one (1) 1,000 pound bale. How much loose corrugated does your prospect have?

VALUE OF CORRUGATED:
The generator will normally receive more for baled corrugated. What is being paid for corrugated? Where? Transportation costs must be factored in.

ELECTRICAL:
Your prospect must have 3-phase electrical power available. Your prospect must install a 3-phase fused disconnect within 10’ of the baler. Single-phase 220V motors are available but they will add approximately $1,200.00 to the cost of a baler and are not as efficient.

CLEARANCE/FOOTING:

OVERHEAD:

You need a clear overhead of 7.75’ to 12.5’. The standard 60" baler requires an overhead clearance of 12.25’.

FOOTING:

The baler should be placed on a 3,000 PSI concrete pad and bolted down with 4 " x 6" concrete bolts. The pad dimensions will range from 3’ x 3’ to a maximum of 7’ x 4’. The standard 60" baler needs a minimum of 6’ x 4’.

REAR:

Allow 24" between the rear of the baler and the wall.

DOOR HINGE SIDE:

Allow 48" from the nearest wall.

FRONT:

Allow 1/5 times the width of the baler from the nearest wall or obstruction. On a standard 60’ baler, you would allow 98".

DOOR HINGE:

As you face the front of the baler, left is left and right is right. If ordered with the hinge to the left (standard) then the door would swing right to left. The wheeled turnbuckle and the controls are always on the side opposite the hinge.

COLOR:

The standard color is green, but you may order any of our standard colors at no additional charge.

OPTIONS:

Hinge right, bale ties, color selection, full bale light, deadman controls and remote operator station.
