Terra NovaThe Terra Nova Project was recently acquired from TeckCominco (their Rio Pombo Project). It is located in the northeastern portion of the Mato Grosso State, Brazil. Mineralization is hosted within a shear zone (Goiano-Vicari trend), hosted by the middle Proterozoic Teles Pires Granite (1.7 Ga). Gold mineralization is localized within a East-West (dipping 80oN) trending shear zone and is characterized as highgrade (>30gt Au), narrow (0.5 - 4 m), quartz veins. Historical production (1994-1997) from the Goiano garimpo of 435 kg of gold suggests in-situ gold grades of ∼50g/t. |
