| Retention Through Resiliency - Training Focus
-
- Resiliency is defined as the capacity to rebound, successfully adapt in the face of adversity, and develop social and academic competence. An increasing body of research from the fields of education, prevention, sociology, and psychology, is showing that most youth, adults, families and communities can rebound from adversity and experience success if they possess enough internal and external protective factors. These protective factors, which can be learned or provided environmentally, make a profound impact on the lives of individuals.
-
- The Retention Through Resiliency (RTR) training starts off by introducing you to cutting-edge research in resiliency. The RTR training team will then help you integrate the new knowledge and get down to specifics so that you can develop resiliency-building and effective retention strategies in your TRIO program.
-
- Who Should Attend
-
- This training is designed for all TRIO personnel, because each of you - from TRIO Director to Administrative Assistant - has an impact on the resiliency and retention of TRIO participants!
-
- What to Expect
-
- Be ready for an intense training, one that requires your full attention and participation. Plan your sightseeing activities for a day or two before the training starts, in the evenings (after 5:30 pm), or for Saturday afternoon after the training is completed. We'll make a deal with you - we'll work you hard during the training, but we guarantee that it will be worth the investment of your time and effort. You'll experience a dynamic, interactive training led by dedicated TRIO trainers. You'll have lots of opportunities to interact with your TRIO colleagues who are always a wealth of information and ideas. And you'll also be paired with a member of the training team who will act as an E-Mentor to answer your questions regarding resiliency after the training is completed.
