Please feel free to email us to let us know what you think, and any changes you'd like to see. To view this email newsletter online, please visit our website at http://www.technicolorsheep.com/enewsletter/february.htm.

I know you haven't heard from me for a while but that's because we've been so busy here! As you may have noticed if you've been in recently, we are full to overflowing with boxes containing all our latest inventory, and it's not even all in yet. Thank you all for your patience and understanding while I work to get all the new yarn shelved and out for you to fondle and admire. I promise it will be worth the wait!

Felting!

What's the perfect way to knit without worrying about gauge or mistakes? Felting! Felting, or fulling, is a process which causes the scales on wool or other animal fibers to open after exposure to hot water. Once the scales are open, the fibers become entangled during agitation and lock into place when they dry - the resulting fabric is felt.

Felting is perfect for creating hats, bags, mittens, vests, and jackets. The end result is a firm durable fabric that holds up well and is easy to shape and mold. Plus, felting hides any mistakes in your knitting, and you don't have to worry about gauge.

Stop in to try felting today! Bring a copy of this newsletter in and receive 20% off yarn for your next felting project. (Not good with any other offer)

This new Canadian company has a great selection of interesting fibers in terrific colorways. Yarns from this company include Kilim and Kolour, two wool, acrylic and alpaca blends; Kilt, a slightly fuzzy wool/acrylic blend in great colors; Modigliani, a tubular yarn that you have to see to believe; Parigi, a fun nubby colorful yarn; Dublino, a funky twisted Mohair yarn; and Orsetto, a wool yarn with a chenille texture.

S.R. Kertzer
This well established company is new to The Technicolor Sheep and offers some great yarns including Beaux, a fancy cotton/viscose blend perfect for summer scarves; Buttons, a fun textured DK weight yarn great for kids' clothes; Fizz, an eyelash in gorgeous and unusual colors; and Kitty, a yarn similar to Plymouth's Eros, also called "stained glass" yarn.

Tahki Stacy Charles
Fun is the key word for the new spring yarns from this company! They include Chat, a flat cotton tape in denim colors; Tropicana, a cotton/viscose blend ribbon with scattered bursts of color; Cocktail, a glitzy take on Tropicana; Farfalle, a cotton/nylon tape with a little added texture; Koko, a blend of cotton, nylon, acrylic, and rayon with a great twist and fantastic colorways; and Casca, a neat eyelash with a "stained glass" yarn woven through it.

Wool in the Woods
These great hand-dyed yarns have 3 super new yarns in 4 gorgeous new colorways: Duet, a nubby cotton; Reflections, a cotton/rayon blend with a hint of sheen; and Sparkle, a rayon yarn with just enough poly to make it, well, sparkle.

Cascade Yarns
We have 3 beautiful cotton yarns from Cascade: Pima Silk, a cotton/silk blend; Pima Tencel, a cotton/tencel blend; and Rainbow, a nubby variegated cotton. In addition, we also have Fixation, a fun, stretchy cotton with just a touch of elastic - perfect for socks!

This is just a taste of what spring has to offer! We also have dozens of new patterns to support all these great new yarns, along with some new independent patterns. Plus, even more spring yarns will be coming in throughout March.

Trunk Shows Coming Soon

Look for Trunk Shows from GGH/Muench and Mission Falls coming in March. Check the website for exact dates or stop in, but be sure to check out the collections of beautiful garments from these great companies!

In order to make The Technicolor Sheep your ultimate yarn store, we need your input! Email us and let us know your thoughts on the following questions.

I've Got a Notion

Are there notions that you are interested in that we don't carry? Maybe a certain kind of cable needle, or something we don't carry at all, like purse frames and handles. Let us know if:

  1. The notions we carry meet your needs.
  2. You would like us to carry a specific notion (please specify).
  3. You're not very interested in notions.

Based on your responses, we will look at adding to our notions selection. Thanks for your input!
