Using Technology: Strategies to Retain and Graduate TRIO Students

TRAINING FOCUS
TRIO programs continuously strive to find innovative ways to improve their retention and graduation rates. The Using Technology: Strategies to Retain and Graduate TRIO Students Training project will identify pathways to student persistence and success, and discuss the best applications of technology to achieve those outcomes. Participants will be actively involved in this exciting training experience, and will return home with effective and meaningful strategies to retain and graduate students.

The Using Technology: Strategies to Retain and Graduate TRIO Students training team is excited to bring this new training to the TRIO community. Our team is currently working on the format and content of the training, and we will post an agenda and description of sessions after our Training of Trainers in early November.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This training is designed for all TRIO personnel, because each of you has an impact on the retention of TRIO participants! This training is funded by the U.S. Department of Education, so there is no registration fee. No stipends are provided. The following meals are included in the training: Continental Breakfast on Thursday and Friday, lunch on Thursday, and a breakfast buffet on Saturday. Click here for the Using Technology: Strategies to Retain and Graduate TRIO Students application page.

WHAT TO EXPECT?
Be ready for an intense training, one that requires your full attention and participation. You'll find the training insightful, intelligent, and practical. You'll return to your program with concrete ideas and resources from not only our staff of experienced TRIO professionals, but also from other professionals in the TRIO community. We'll set you up with an e-mentor from our staff, who can help answer questions, provide advice, and provide follow-up.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS
You are responsible for making your own hotel reservation. Please make your reservations as soon as you receive notification confirming your acceptance into the training. If you delay, you may find that the room block is full and you will have to look for another hotel in the area. Also, please note the room block deadline and reserve before that date to ensure that you get the reduced room rate. When making reservations, identify yourself as a participant with ASPIRE Training Institute.
