Individual units are spec-ed at conservative distance. The UHF has a range of typically seven miles. The VHF has a range of typically ten miles. The spread spectrum (900 Megahertz) has a range of typically ½ mile. Range is determined by location of the antennae, how near line of site the two units are, the type and amount of obstacles between the two units and the level of radio frequency interference (RFI) around a unit. Options are available to enhance distance.Do I need special training or equipment to operate the RC7 or RC8?
