With the aim of offering an experience that is fully consistent with our philosophy, Tierra Patagonia designs a style of travel that allows you to visit a balanced and representative sample of Patagonian landscapes at a pace that encourages you to fully appreciate the experience.

To aid your understanding of this lovely area, note that our host and guide, Rodolfo Werner Kinkelin, speaks fluent Spanish, English and German. Our collaborators also speak English and Spanish, and in some case a third language.

The type of accommodation will vary depending on the place we are visiting. You will enjoy facilities ranging from first class hotels to comfortable, country-style estancias. Argentinean estancias are very large farms, originally devoted to agricultural and cattle activities. Some estancias of Patagonia are now also offering accommodation for travelers. The estancias in which we will stay have all the amenities (heat, hot water, etc.) needed to provide you comfort and relaxation.

Most often we will stay in double rooms (optional single rooms will be available in some cases for an additional payment). Our trips include some hikes that require a minimum level of physical conditioning in order to enjoy them. It is important to mention, however, that all our hiking activities will be optional, and that the length could be adapted depending on the physical shape of travelers.

Please be aware that some small itinerary changes may occur due to changes in frequency of domestic flights in Patagonia. In addition, we have to remember that weather changes very rapidly in Patagonia, which is one of the characteristic features of the region. Although weather changes might force us to modify some of our planned trip activities, we should not regard this as a drawback, but as part of the adventure of exploring this enchanting land.

We are currently offering a trip called "The Dream of Patagonia".

This trip takes 16 days - (please, add 2 extra days for the international flight in and out from Argentina).

This trip was especially designed for the Patagonian spring/summer (from September to April), and it represents a good example of the type of trips that we offer. In other months of the year, we offer similar trips that include some modifications depending on the climate conditions (for example, during the Austral winter it is not advisable to take the excursions to the glaciers), or on the possibility of watching particular animal species (for example, the best time of the year to watch Southern right whales is from August to November). Please, if you are interested, contact us and we will let you know about our different trips.

The best months to watch the different species of the Patagonian fauna are the following:

  • Southern sea lions: December to April
  • Southern elephant seals: September to April
  • Southern right whales: August to November
  • Orcas: March to April
  • Penguins: September to February
  • Cormorants: October to January
  • Petrels: November to March
  • Terns: October to December

Following is a detailed description of the trip The Dream of Patagonia.

For this trip we will need a minimum group size of 12 and a maximum of 16 travelers. If you are interested in this trip, please contact us and we will inform you about travel dates and space availability. Also, remember that you could ask about other future trips and custom-made tours.
