"Website and Internet gamedesign" 1997
These characters were part of an interactiveinternet game called "Sole Mates" for Harry's
Shoes out of New York City. The memory game involved the user opening differentboxes
of shoes to try to find a match. The user had to watch out, though, becauseseveral of a
Smelly the foot's" worst enemies hid behind some of the boxes.Some of those enemies
(to the right) are: Athelete's Foot (the green flaming monster jock),The Sinister Stinkster
(the smelly green guy), Whiz the Dog (should be obvious), and ToeJam (the disgusting glob
of gunk in the lower right.)

The characters on the left and below are from the USAA'scatalog web site. The concept
was to create a host character to help you navigate through the site. Becauseof USAA's military
affiliation, we developed a "General Patton" style character namedPat, and a cast of
characters that everyone could enjoy. Below left are some of the preliminarysketches that led
to the final design of the character.
