This is a sterling Japanese ship model that dates from 1947 to 1952.

This is a sterling Japanese ship model that dates from 1947 to 1952. This type of ship in its custom case was produced right after WWII as one means to jump-start the economy in Japan. The sterling ship sails on pewter water. The ship is marked sterling silver and is in its original case. This would be a nice addition to any maritime collection. The ship measures 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 8 1/2". The case measures 11 3/4" x 7 1/4" x 11 1/8".
