Douglas Arantes, M.Sc., MinEx (Queen's), Chairman and CEO.
A geologist with 27 years experience in mineral exploration mainly in Brazil holding senior positions with several major mining companies, including BHP and Western Mining. He was Chief Geologist for WMC Brasil and was involved in the discovery and development of the Mara Rosa gold deposit for WMC. He specializes in conception and design of exploration programs, target selection, and evaluating the economics of mineral deposits. First recipient of the "David Money Award and Medal" from Queen's University (best student in MinEx Program, 1994). Founded Arantes and Associates in 1996 and Amazônia Mineração Ltda in 1998. Presently CEO of Sertao Mineracao Ltda., the JV company set up by Troy Resources NL (Australlia) and Amazonia to operate the Sertao Mine, and to explore the Faino-Goias Greenstone Belt.

Robert Mason, Ph.D. (Witwatersrand), Director of Exploration.
Worked as an exploration geologist with government agencies and mining companies in Southern Africa from 1961 to 1977. Headed Exploration Geology Research Group and then Exploration Manager for JCI. He established the MSc program in mineral exploration at Rhodes University in 1978, with support from the South African Chamber of Mines, and was Professor of Exploration Geology at Rhodes from 1978 to 1982. He has been an External Examiner for the Rhodes Program since 1983. In 1983 he became Director of the MSc program in Mineral Exploration at Queen's University. He has wide ranging interests in the Geology and Metallogeny of mineral deposits, with a focus on exploration and development, and has been a consultant to many of the major mining companies, including CVRD, BHP, Falconbridge, RTZ, Billiton, AngloGold, Western Mining, and a number of junior exploration and mining companies. In 1996, he founded Mason Exploration Associates Ltd. He was appointed as Emeritus Professor at Queens in 1997. Director of Orezone Resoures (ORZ-T).

Sérgio D. Abe, B.Sc. (USP), Director of Operations.
A geologist with 25 years experience in mineral exploration in Brazil (DOCEGEO, RTZ, BHP), Australia (BHP), Mali (BHP) and Ivory Coast (BHP), holding senior positions including exploration manager for Mali and Ivory Coast during the period of 1989-1996. He was regional safety coordinator, South America, for BHP between 1989 and 1999. Sérgio is currently responsible for the development of tailings and oxide projects for AMAZÔNIA in the Tapojos Region and managing exploration activities at the Sertao Project in Goias.

Brian W. Mackenzie, Eng. Sc. D. (Columbia), Director.
Early experience in the South African Mining Industry, and from 1968 to 1977 was responsible for teaching and research in mineral economics at McGill University, and was director of McGill's mining program from 1974 -1977. Between 1978-97 Dr. Mackenzie held a joint appointment at Queen's University as Senior Research Associate at the Centre for Resource Studies, and Professor in the Department of Geological Sciences, and in 1998 he was appointed Professor Emeritus. He has presented 146 mineral economics short courses in 16 countries including 13 presentations in Brazil. Dr. Mackenzie has carried out a wide range of consulting assignments on mineral policy, planning and evaluation issues for Government Agencies, and the Mining Industry in Canada, Australia, South Africa, Brasil and Chile.

Karl J. C. Harries, Q.C., BASc Mining Eng.(Toronto), LLB (Osgoode), Director
He was appointed a Queen's Counsel in 1982. Until 1991, he was an active partner in the Toronto firm of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin (and its predecessors). He continues to assist his former firm as Counsel and to act for private clients, both domestic and foreign. His legal practice emphasized natural resource matters, particularly those relating to mining, in which his experience extends to virtually all phases, from exploration through development, funding and operation to shutdown. He has authored three books and numerous articles and papers on Mining Agreements, Royalties and Entry and Work on Private Properties. He has lectured in the Faculty of Applied Science at the University of Toronto and is currently an Adjunct Professor at Queen's University, where he teaches part of the postgraduate QMinEx Program in the Department of Geological Sciences. Member of the Task Force set up in 1998 to review the OSC regulations governing Mining and Exploration Corporations.

Has 13 years experience in operating and managing uranium, gold and diamond exploration projects in North America, with Cameco, Uranerz, and Mason Exploration Associates Ltd. Recipient of the David Money Award and Medal from Queens University, 1995, and a founding partner in Mason Exploration Associates Ltd.1996.

Fernando Hugo da Silva Jr., B.Sc., (Rio de Janeiro), Partner.
A geologist with 18 years experience in mineral exploration in Brazil (BP, Billiton, Gencor, RTZ). Experience in tin and gold exploration in several parts of southern, central-western and northern regions of Brazil. From 1996 to 1998 has worked as a consulting geologist for mining companies (Placer Dome, Homestake) when he joined AMAZÔNIA. Fernando's experience includes extensive operational expertise and a valuable network of contacts with garimpo owners in the Amazon region.

David J. Kerr, B.Sc., (Geol. Eng., Queen's), Partner.
A geological engineer and consultant with 16 years of mineral exploration experience for base metals and gold in Canada, Latin America, Africa, Eastern Europe and Turkey. Since 1990, has balanced geological consulting work for Anglo American Plc., Lonrho, Cominco, Anglogold, Minsur, Iamgold and a number of junior exploration companies, with applied research in ore genesis and teaching at Queens University in Kingston.

Norio Araki. Mining Engineer (USP)
A mining engineer with 35 years experience in feasibility studies, mine planning, and mine operations in Brasil (Petrobras, Caraiba Mineraco, S.A., Prometal S.A., Caemi and CVRD). Involved in the feasibility, planning and operations of Gold Mine Projects for CVRD (Fazenda Brasileiro, Igarape Bahia, Almas, etc.) and the Salobo deposit at Carajas. Coordinator of Total Quality Management Program for CVRD's Superintendencia de Metais Nobres 1993-1998. Independent consultant for CVRD, SAMA Mineracao Ltda., Para Pigmentos S.A., Kobe Steel, Cimento Maua S.A., etc., from 1998 to present. Prepared the mineral processing and environmental management plans for the Sertao bid, and is ivolved with Amazonia as a mineral processing and environmental management consultant. Prepared the mining plan for the Sertao bid and the applications for mining licenses for Sertao Mineracao. Mining consultant to Amazonia.

Dan A. Mackie. P. Eng. (McGill)
A mechanical engineer with over forty years of experience, he has been Chief Engineer of Hudson Bay Mining, Vice President of Engineering for HG Engineering, and for the past twelve years as president of INNOVAT Limited and Dan Mackie & Associates. He is known for his expertise in conceptual and innovative design as well as project management, most recently as project manager on the pre-feasibility work for Collahuasi in Chile. This $1.8 billion dollar project was built to the concept developed in that early work. Currently, his efforts are concentrating on the Continuous Vat LeachingTM process, a concept that is creating a paradigm shift in the mining industry with regard to operational efficiency and environmental impact.
