San Diego, California

San Diego is where California was born. While San Diego is known for its near-perfect climate, miles of sandy beaches, and fun-filled waterfront activities, you’ll also discover a city with a character and ambiance rich in the arts that is home to a culturally diverse population of 2.6 million.

Located in the heart of downtown San Diego, The Bristol is a newly renovated luxury hotel that combines contemporary elegance with modern facilities and personal service.

The Bristol is just two blocks from the historic downtown Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego’s hottest place to visit. 16 ½ blocks of shops, galleries, coffee houses, theatre spaces, and restaurants are housed in carefully restored historic buildings.  From cool jazz to haute cuisine, the Gaslamp offers some of San Diego’s best dining, live entertainment and nightlife.

Also nearby is Horton Plaza, made up of six lavishly decorated and landscaped open-air levels of shopping and dining. The San Diego Trolley Line runs past the The Bristol and serves downtown’s waterfront, Old Town, the Mexican border, the eastern suburbs and points north to Mission Valley and Qualcomm Stadium.

Come early or stay after the training to ...

Go to the Embarcadero - downtown’s harbor area where you can board excursion boats or the ferry or stop by the San Diego Maritime Museum.

Walk on the wild side at the famous San Diego Zoo, Sea World, or Wild Animal Park.

Check out the beaches - there’s seventy miles of them in the area including Ocean Beach, near Sunset Cliffs; Windansea, in south La Jolla; and Imperial Beach in the South Bay.  Temperatures will be cool (high 60's) but you can stroll in the sand and enjoy the crash of the waves.

Get teed off on one of the 87 pristine golf courses (some challenging, some easy, all spectacular) in the San Diego area.

Visit Old Town, the site of San Diego’s original settlement, where you’ll get a glimpse of California in the Mexican and early-American periods. Old Town is also a thriving neighborhood, with more than 10,000 residents and many shopping, lodging, dining and entertainment options.
