Joe was born in Los Angeles, California, USA, but spent his early childhood in the tiny Republic of Singapore. Governed by a benevolent dictatorship, the island-country offered Joe a rich cultural experience. Much of Joe's early years were a haze to him. He went to school but didn't know what it was really all about or why he needed to go. That, combined with watching many martial arts films, had him jumping around school pretending to be a Shoalin monk. In 1982, he came to Canada and attended Brookmill Junior Public School, and now he's a professional graphic designer.
