Program Profile
In consultation with representatives of the York University History Department, Seneca College has created this six-subject certificate in Professional Communication, available to second-year students beginning September 2001.

The program focuses on applied communication skills which, in conjunction with the knowledge gained while earning their History degree, graduates can bring to a wide range of employment opportunities.

The capstone subject is a Material History project, in which students will be expected to apply the skills and software tools learned in the previous five subjects.

Interested students will be expected to complete a writing assessment to determine their potential for success in the program and enrolment will be limited to 30 participants.

All subjects will be taught at the Seneca @ York Campus by full-time or adjunct faculty from the Corporate Communications, Technical Communication and Design Programs of Seneca College.

The subjects will be offered sequentially in the Fall and Winter semesters from September 2001 to Winter 2004. Cost per subject will be $369 for the initial group of participants. If there is sufficient demand, one or more subjects may be offered in Summer 2001.

Information sessions will be held in January and February 2001.
